Holi, no doubt is the most joyful festival that really feels like a festival. You can be yourself and celebrate it the way you wish to. Here are 8 types of people you will definitely meet this Holi. Which type are you?

The Rang de robos: These are the guys colored to their teeth and every visible corner of their skin with colours, especially in shades of silver and gold. Welcome the rang de robos!

The Balooners: They are activated few days before the main event. Can be spotted on balconies in the form of kids or grownups. Main weapons: water-filled balloons.

The Rangbarses: They are the artists behind the multi-coloured abstract street arts on Holi. Love to throw colour in the air, usually found in groups.

The Sharabis: Smells like a bar, they don’t miss any chance of intoxication. Be it whisky, beer, bhang or vodka! Peene Walo ko Peene Ki bahana Chahiye!

The Sanskaris: Well dressed, most probably in whites and little specks of gulal on their holy cheeks can be spotted.

The Biker Gang: All drenched in colour this biker gang roams around in the street. Mostly harmless might be armed with some colour.

How to Play Guilt free and Carefree Holi- Tips to Take care of your Skin and Hair

After year long wait, the Holi countdown has begun. The festival of joy is incomplete without colours. After all it is the festival of colour. How do you even stop from playing with colour and having loads of fun? But, all the fun might go too rough on your skin and hair. Here are few tips to make your Holi celebration guilt free and safe.

Don’t get a facial: Leave the facial part after the Holi. Facial will make the skin tender and colours will cause more irritation if your skin is recently exfoliated. Guys, it is better you skip shaving on the day of Holi.

Eyes:  Wear a sunglass (not the best one you have) and avoid wearing contact lens.

What to Wear: Try to cover as much skin as possible. Wear full sleeve shirt or t-shirt. Jeans and denims take longer to dry, so wear cotton clothes.

Nails: Apply nail polish to protect your nails. Guys can try transparent nail polish.

Hair and Skin: Paper your hair with warm coconut oil or olive oil to keep them protected. Apply oil on your body 30 minutes before you hit the show. You can also apply moisturizer with sunscreen on your skin. Keep your lips moist with petroleum jelly or lip balm.

Hit the Salon: Visit the beauty parlour after the celebration is over. You hair and skin need some serious care after they have successfully got through this celebration. I have good news for you. Get the post Holi salon deals for some cool discounts at selected salons in Delhi.

Celebrate Holi with loads of love and great food with friends and family. Also, I beg you to spare the poor animals; dogs, cats, cows etc. Colors have harmful effect on them and they can’t take care of themselves the way you can. Happy Holi!

Karim’s Restaurant near Jama Masjid

Visiting Karim’s Restaurant near Jama Masjid, New Delhi was a delightful experience. I am a non-veg fan and like most of my types I have a strong craving for delicious food. You won’t feel the sophistication of a fine dine restaurant at the place but you will feel a different ambience. Karim’s restaurant was founded in 1913 by Haji Karimuddin. The family line had the profession of cooks in the Royal Mughal palaces. Now the fourth generation is handing the chain. It is this place where you can taste dishes whose recipes were handed down by their ancestors.

Lesser Known Ways To Save Money

So, where do you start from? The first step to take is study your own spending habits. You might go the old school way by maintaining a notebook of your spending. Avoid Expensive Habits: These habits are already hurting your health and wallet. You can save a good deal of money and stay healthy. This might sound contrasting to the topic, but habits like smoking, excessive drinking etc. might make you feel better, they are in no way comforting to your mental and physical health.

Strategic Grocery Shopping: If you have ever noticed, the cost of money incurred on grocery is almost consistent. So here are few things you can do to save money on grocery shopping.
·         Shop online and order the intangible items in bulk.
·         Make a meal list. Shop accordingly and you will notice that there is almost no wastage of grocery items and vegetables.

Stay near your Workplace: Move to a location near your workplace to save on your commuting expenses and time. This process is applicable for singles or individuals who live in a shared flat or a paying guest accommodation.

International Women’s Day or simply women’s day is celebrated on March 8 every year to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women's Day (IWD) was originally called International Working Women's Day.

A Brief History

  • Women’s day was observed for the very first time on February 28, 1909, in New York. It was organized by the Socialist Party of America in remembrance of the 1908 strike of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union.

  •   Later in 1910, at International Women's Conference, German Socialist Luise Zietz proposed the establishment of an annual 'International Woman's Day' and was seconded by fellow socialist and later communist leader Clara Zetkin,

  •  In March 19, 1911, International Women's Day (IWD) was marked for the first time, by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

  •   In 1975, which was designated as International Women's Year, the United Nations gave official sanction to, and began sponsoring, International Women's Day.

Surefire Ways to get rid of the Seasonal Transition

Nature has a deep influence on everything connected in the universe. Do you remember high tide, low tides and their connection with the lunar cycle? Full moon has a subtle effect on our moods and psyche and it is scientifically proven, after all we are 70% water.  Being a part of nature (which we tend to forget) the transition of seasons has a deep impact on our health and mood (mostly adverse). As winter is all set to bid adieu, this period of transition can trigger some form of seasonal sadness.

Seasonal depression is a worldwide thing and yearly millions of people suffer from this disorder. You don’t have to worry if you are feeling sad, grumpy, moody, or anxious. It’s perfectly normal and can be done away with. All you need is a few drinks! No, I am just kidding.

Start with a good night’s sleep. Need I say more!

Healthy Food: You can start with a heart healthy food- high in fiber and low in saturated fat.

What to Eat

Eat fish like salmon, tuna, and mackerel which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Fish also contains a bunch of healthy nutrients.

Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans.
For more protein: Lean cuts of meat, poultry (skin free), low-fat dairy, nuts, tofu, and legumes.

Sweat out to beat it: Workout at gym practice aerobics or run to raise your vibes.

Raise your Oxytocin: Do you know the brain chemical responsible for making you feel un-stressed, calm and relaxed?  It’s Oxytocin. There are different things that can raise your oxytocin. Physical contacts with a loved one raise oxytocin. A hug or touch that feels good can do it. Massages are magical if you want to feel relaxed. Massages release oxytocin.

If you are interested about enjoying a professional massage, you can find spa deals here.

Drinks: You are what you eat is over hyped. “You are what you drink”- is the new theme, after all you are 70% water

Few recommendations:
  • Green Tea
  • Chamomile Tea
  • Tart Cherry Juice
  • Warm water with lemon
  • Coconut water
  • Lassi

And finally if you insist :-P alcoholic drinks in moderate quantity can temporarily elevate your mood, but remember when I say moderate I really mean moderate.

You are responsible for your own happiness and you have the power to change your mood! Chillax :)
