Nature has a deep influence on
everything connected in the universe. Do you remember high tide, low tides and
their connection with the lunar cycle? Full moon has a subtle effect on our
moods and psyche and it is scientifically proven, after all we are 70% water. Being a part of nature (which we tend to
forget) the transition of seasons has a deep impact on our health and mood
(mostly adverse). As winter is all set to bid adieu, this period of transition can trigger some form of seasonal sadness.
Seasonal depression is a
worldwide thing and yearly millions of people suffer from this disorder. You don’t
have to worry if you are feeling sad, grumpy, moody, or anxious. It’s
perfectly normal and can be done away with. All you need is a few drinks! No, I am just kidding.
Start with a good night’s
sleep. Need I say more!
Healthy Food: You
can start with a heart healthy food- high in fiber and low in saturated fat.
What to Eat
Eat fish like salmon, tuna, and mackerel
which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Fish also contains a bunch of healthy
nutrients.
Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans.
For more protein: Lean cuts of meat, poultry (skin
free), low-fat dairy, nuts, tofu, and legumes.
Sweat out to beat it: Workout
at gym practice aerobics or run to raise your vibes.
Raise your Oxytocin: Do you know the brain
chemical responsible for making you feel un-stressed, calm and
relaxed? It’s Oxytocin. There
are different things that can raise your oxytocin. Physical contacts with a
loved one raise oxytocin. A hug or touch that feels good can do it. Massages
are magical if you want to feel relaxed. Massages release oxytocin.
If you are interested about enjoying a professional massage, you can find spa deals here.
Drinks: You are
what you eat is over hyped. “You are what you drink”- is the new theme, after all
you are 70% water
Few recommendations:
- Green Tea
- Chamomile Tea
- Tart Cherry Juice
- Warm water with lemon
- Coconut water
- Lassi
You are responsible for your own happiness and you have the power to change your mood! Chillax :)
