We are raised in a planet that
revolves around the Sun and we the people revolve around money. Right from the
morning everybody is on their pursuit to earn money. It has become the ultimate
way to meet our ends and there is no possible alternative in the near future,
unless you are thinking about settling in some uninhabited, self-sustaining
land. Like me, you might hate it but you can’t ignore it. Let’s talk about ways
to save money in the 21st century.
Time to get minimalist:
“Things that you own, ends up owing you”. It’s time to get rid of things that
you don’t really require. Replace your fuel and electricity hungry items with efficient
products. Buy things that you really need, not just because your neighbor has
it. Being minimalist has several benefits. Many successful people believe in
getting minimalist and have embraced it as a way of life. Apart from saving
money you would gain more focus and energy for important things in your life.
Commuting: Use
convenient means of transport. At a time when the Odd-Even traffic policy in
Delhi is making waves throughout the country, it is time to reconsider our
daily commuting habits. For better environment and more personal time, use the
most efficient mode of transport that suits you. There is more to life than maintaining
status with a vehicle. Bullock-cart or BMW, both are still means of transport.
Get rid of self-limiting stereotypical thoughts. Leave less carbon foot prints
on the planet and play your role towards a sustainable planet. This image below
will give you a better perspective about what I want to say.
Think Twice before investing:
Be it a house, property or an insurance policy, learn in details about the
terms and conditions. Many people say it
is better to live in a rented home than buying a home. You might want to
have the cash in the bank than paying monthly installment with added interest.
Use more coupons but avoid
impulsive shopping: Online coupons are accessible than ever before. Save
your money while shopping by using coupons. There are several online coupon
portals that have ready to use shopping coupons. Avail the discounts and
compare coupons to get the maximum discount. Stay away from buying unnecessary
items just because you are getting it at a low price.
Mind what you eat: Eat
healthy and consciously. Try not to get influenced by advertisers. They have
mastered human psychology and know how to influence buyer’s choice. Make
educated choice and eat better for great health.
Expensive Habits: “We
make our choices, then our choices make us.” Habits can be changed but
it needs dedication and effort. Say goodbye to expensive habits like smoking
and compulsive drinking. They have irreversible health effects which might
result to a huge medical bill in near future. Better health will lead to more
productivity and better decisions in your life.
I remember how my happy and
stress free my granny used to be. She was healthy and could smile with ease
unlike us. She didn’t care about money at all! Well it’s been a decade since
she has gone. She was a simple village woman full of life. I hope you too can
smile and be happy like her!
